Editing photo for printing

Photo editing for printing is the main question you confronted with while starts with digital photography. PixBuilder is the tool for the photo editing with professional results. Including flexible and powerful instruments for photo editing PixBuilder is the ideal tool for the beginners and professionals. You can find many tools for colors adjustments such as: levels, curves, color balance tool, brightness/contrast instrument and many others for editing photo as professional. Photo editing process. Step-by-step instructions

First of all you must open your digital photo in PixBuilder. Use Main menu -> File -> Open function. Select editing photo in open dialog and it will appear in main PixBuilder workspace. Now you can start photo editing process. All color adjustment functions you can find in Main menu -> Colors. Here are following functions: Brightness/Contrast, Color balance, Levels, Auto levels, Auto contrast, Curves, Hue/Saturation, Grayscale, Invert and Fill. Let's observe them all.

1) Brightness/Contrast

As you can see from function name, the main goal of this function is to change photo contrast and brightness. You can find two sliders in function dialog window to change brightness and contrast. Preview checkbox is to view changes in real-time mode.

2) Color balance

If you want to change global photo colors mixture you can use Color balance function. You can change colors from RGB to CMY values. Color levels changes from -100 to +100 values. The tone balance option allows you to select the tonal range for the editing. If you want to increase color value in your photo just drug corresponding slider toward this color in other case drag slider away form this color. Preserve Luminosity option allow you to preserve tonal balance of your photo. Default button resets all values to a 0. Preview checkbox is for the real-time changes previewing.

3) Levels

Levels correct function allows you to change tonal balance by changing colors histograms. In Levels dialog select color channel to edit the histogram. By dragging three rulers under histogram you can change up and down values and change histogram scale by dragging center ruler. While changing ruler positions you can see a new histogram in blue color, gray color shows you old histogram view. Using three eyedropper button you can specify a black, gray or white color for automate levels tuning. Auto button sets up automate levels changing algorithm.

4) Auto levels

The same as Auto button in Levels mode.

5) Auto contrast

Sets up automate values for photo contrast.

6) Curves

Curves function allows you to have an influence on colors by changing output curve for each color channel. You can draw any curve for the output color values. Small example. Diagonal straight line do not sets any change to colors because in this case input and output values for color are the same. If you draw a vertical line for example all values more than 0 will change to 255 and you will receive a white color image instead of your photo. If you draw a horizontal line all colors less than 255 will sets to 0 and you will see just black image. With curves function you can set any color changes rule you want.

7) Hue/Saturation

With Hue/Saturation function you can easily change your photo colors in very vivid mode. You can see two color lines that show you current RGB colors on your photo and colors after applying the Hue/Saturation function. By dragging the Hue slider you can move new colors relative to old colors to change a total color of your photo. Saturation slider sets colors “richness”. Lightness slider sets colors lighten or darker.

8) Grayscale

function makes you photo like old photos by removing color information.

9) Invert

Invert function inverts you photo like if you see on a negative.

10) Fill

Fill function fills your photo with a chosen color.

Note that all color adjustment functions works with a selected area if presents or with all photo if you don't select anything.
Printing your photo after editing

After you make a color correction you can use a Print function to print with preview your photo. PixBuilder has a great printing preview mode helps you to print your photos as you want.
